I have no idea why, but all of sudden I started calling the Brit Boo a few weeks ago so of course, he starts calling me Boo. It’s become more of a joke than anything. We have conversations where we say Boo to each other 5 or 6 times in a paragraph. It always makes me laugh inside when he says No Boo (which he says no to me a lot) because of course, my mind automatically goes to Nobu, the amazing sushi restaurant. It gets weird when I call his brother Boo when I’m asking him a question, lol.
When the Brit and I first got together, he was the most amazing cuddler. Whenever I turned, he would turn and we would still be cuddling. Turns out it was a bait and switch. He doesn’t like to cuddle while sleeping because he gets too hot. So eventually the amazing cuddles stopped *sniff sniff*. We compromised, I’d get a 5 minute cuddle before we rolled over in different directions and went to sleep. While we were separated last summer I was teasing him about luring me in with cuddles and he said he was willing to try again. Awwww.
Since then, we’ve actually come up with a compromise. When he’s facing me, he throws his leg over mine so we’re intertwined on our lower halves. When he’s facing away (I always lie on my right side because I still have a touch of vertigo, he turns back and forth) he puts his hand behind him and we hold hands. I can’t tell you how much I love this. Now it doesn’t bother me when he turns away because we are still connected.
When the Brit is working, he works 12 hour shifts and switches between day and night so we go to bed at different times. The other night I crawled into bed in the middle of the night and his hand was there waiting for me. I felt such complete happiness in that moment. It’s the little things.
What’s one little thing your significant other (or a past SO) does that makes you so happy?
